Top view
The A. main cutting edge is the edge that does the principal cutting of a workpiece. The angle formed by the main cutting edge and the workpiece is called the B. side cutting edge angle The cutting edge angle is the angle formed by the main cutting edge and the work piece.
Right side view
A. Back relief angle and
B. cutting edge inclination angle.
The cutting inclination angle is the angle between the main cutting edge and the rake of the insert in the perpendicular direction.
Left side view
The A. Front relief angle is the angle formed between the flank and the machined surface of the work piece at the end cutting edge. The B. Side rake angle is the angle formed between the cross section of the tool holder and the rake of the insert.
