Addition of a Durable High Performance Steel shank to the Boring Bar Series for Machining Small Parts

The boring bar for machining small parts is a series that realizes improvement in machined surface quality due to stable machining conditions during internal turning where chatter is likely to occur. In addition, the lineup provides dimensions of the boring bar that correspond to the mounting length of automated lathes, eliminating the need to cut the shank when interference occurs.

During internal turning of small components, the limited area for chip discharge area due to the small diameter, can cause the tool life to deteriorate due to chip damage. Therefore, these new durable high-performance steel boring bars, designed to suppress the damage usually caused by chip evacuation, are therefore able to provide stable machining.

43 items of high performance steel boring bar and 6 additional items of boring bar compatible with V-type inserts will be added to the range.

Main features of boring bars and positive inserts for high precision and small parts machining

  1. Boring bars for machining small parts have a total length that corresponds to the specifications of automatic lathe companies that produce small parts, which means there is no need to shorten the shank.

  2. Internal through coolant carbide shanks with excellent chip evacuation and a minimum machining diameter of 9 mm are available as standard.

  3. ISO inserts can be used for a wide range of applications, materials and workpiece geometries.
