For steels
For stainless steels
For cast iron
For non-ferrous metal
For difficult to cut material
For hardened material
MC6115 has the combination of a high hardness base material and new Al2O3 coating with improved wear resistance that provides excellent performance during high speed machining. It has higher peeling resistance and cutting edge stability achieved by super TOUGH-Grip technology that improves the adhesion between coating layers and relaxes the tensile stresses within the coating.
There is an increasing demand from the market for an improvement in machining efficiency and for higher cutting speeds. Additionally, the use of high strength materials in automotive components that requires cutting tools with high wear resistance is also increasing. However, cutting tools with a high wear resistance are generally prone to chipping and instability.
To meet the demand, Mitsubishi Materials has released MC6115, a new CVD coated turning grade for steel machining, which is capable of both high speed machining and providing excellent cutting edge stability.
1. High hardness substrate and new Al2O3 coating provides improved wear resistance for high speed machining.
2. New binding technology that improves the adhesion strength of the coating improves peeling resistance.
3. Reduced tensile stresses of the coating improves cutting edge stability.
