These special purpose drills have been designed from the outset specifically for drilling of HRSA materials. Several important performance targets were set to be achieved before they were launched. The most important of these targets was tool life and reliability. To achieve this target, several features were built into the geometry, substrate and coating of the DSAS drills.

Mitsubishi Materials has added 2 new sizes and a new insert grade to its recently launched WJX series of high feed cutters. WJX has been designed to be multi-functional and able to perform at high feed rates to ensure usability and efficiency across a wide choice of applications.

Mitsubishi Materials high performance, indexable tangential insert, milling cutter range, VPX200, has been expanded to include a brand new type of insert. The new insert, known as the L-breaker type will now be offered together with the existing M-breaker. Designed with a sharper geometry than the existing M-breaker, means it becomes the optimum choice for machining mild steels, stainless steels and aluminium, as well as titanium under stable machining conditions.

Mitsubishi Materials has opened a new technology centre - MTEC (Mitsubishi Technology & Education Centre) near Stuttgart, Germany. The new centre is housed in a modern two-storey building and was officially inaugurated with an opening ceremony on June 4th 2019.

WJX - High feed milling cutters. WJX has been designed to be multi-functional and able to perform at high feed rates to ensure usability and efficiency across a wide choice of applications.

New 6-Flute conical taper barrel end mills. This latest addition has been specially designed for high efficiency finish machining of titanium alloy blades and for milling other materials from mild steel through to aluminium alloys.

The MS Plus series of general purpose solid carbide end mills has recently been expanded to include 2 additional types. The new types are a medium cutting length, the MPMHV and a short cutting length - the MPSHV. Both types feature a special reduced neck diameter.

Mitsubishi Materials’ first recommendation for highly efficient turning of sintered alloys and cast irons is the new MB4120 grade. Produced to complement the existing MB4020 and MB730 grades, but featuring the latest advancements in CBN particle technology to deliver the step in performance demanded by customers.

The VFX series now has a new advanced grade, MP9130, to add extra performance and reliability. MP9130 is made from an enhanced super-fine cemented carbide substrate for increased toughness that also retains hardness for longer tool life.

VQ, the top of the range series of end mills from Mitsubishi Materials has been further expanded to include a new 5 flute type for machining titanium alloy. This latest addition has been specially designed for deep shoulder and deep full slot milling up to 2 x D.

For the efficient turning of high hardened steel, Mitsubishi Materials has an extensive range of coated CBN insert grades, the BC8100 series. Four grades make up the complete range: BC8105, BC8110, BC8120, BC8130.
