MITSUBISHI MATERIALS CORPORATION, Metalworking Solutions Company (President: Kazuo Ohara, Address: Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has added the coated carbide grade MV1030 and the precision L-type breaker to the WWX200 series of general-purpose milling cutters. Sales will begin from November 1^st.

The WWX series employs uniquely developed X-shape inserts that provide strength and realizes economy and efficiency by enabling the use of double-sided 6 corner inserts. Excellent machined surfaces are a result of the large radius geometry on the bottom of the insert. In the WWX200 category, the downsized insert reduces tool costs when machining at smaller depths of cut.

Mitsubishi Materials is pleased to announce the addition of the MV1030 coated carbide grade for milling, and a precision L-type breaker that realizes low-resistance, high-precision and a long tool life when machining steel.

Main features of the coated carbide grade MV1030 and L-type chipbreaker

1. The precision L-chipbreaker is a low-resistance tooth form that contributes to improved machining accuracy during finishing.
    
2. The MV1030 insert has an Al-rich coating that provides excellent wear resistance thanks to its high-hardness and oxidation resistance.
    
3. MV1030 is resistant to thermal shock and performs well when wet and dry cutting, and therefore prevents thermal cracking during interrupted steel and stainless steel machining.
