Drilling

Addition to the DVAS mini drill Tristar series of extra deep hole drills. Ø1.1 ~ Ø2.9 mm (50 x D) in Ø0.1 mm steps.

MITSUBISHI MATERIALS CORPORATION, Metalworking Solutions Company (President: Kazuo Ohara, Address: Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has added 16 deep-hole drills (50 x D) to the Tristar drill series of general-purpose carbide solid drills. Sales begin on November 1st.

DVAS, from the Tristar drill series is a new generation solid carbide drill that provides customers with three benefits, high efficiency, long life and a high precision.

New long length types, in 0.1 mm increments from Ø1.1 Ø2.9 mm, are now available to drill up to a depth of 50 times the tool diameter.

Main features of the DVAS Mini drills

  1. The advanced proprietary through coolant hole configuration tri-cooling Technology achieves a coolant discharge volume more than twice that of conventional models. Thereby dramatically improving chip expulsion and lowering cutting heat.

  2. Fracture resistance is improved by connecting the straight major cutting edge and web thinning with a smooth arc.

  3. The new xr web thinning achieves low cutting resistance and excellent chip breaking performance.

  4. The short drill uses a unique design that minimizes the length of the lower part of the neck. This feature improves rigidity and chip emissions simultaneously.

  5. An extra long type, 50 x D, is now available from Ø1.1 ~ Ø2.9 mm in 0.1 mm increments.
