MITSUBISHI MATERIALS CORPORATION Metalworking Solutions Company (Company President: Tetsuya Tanaka, Address: Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has released additional inserts to the MC5100 series of coated carbide grades for cast iron turning. These new additions will go on sale on April 15th.
MC5100 is a series of CVD coated carbide grades that supports a wide range of machining needs. There is a choice of a grade with high wear resistance, a grade for general turning of grey cast iron and a grade with excellent fracture resistance for heavy interrupted machining.
These three grades are the MC5105, which exhibits outstanding wear resistance during high speed cutting of gray cast iron at speeds up to 1000 m/min. The MC5115 grade that suppresses abnormal cutting edge damage during ductile cast iron turning and achieves both excellent wear and fracture resistance, and the MC5125 grade that demonstrates excellent fracture resistance during heavy interrupted cutting of high-strength ductile cast iron.
