MITSUBISHI MATERIALS CORPORATION, Metalworking Solutions Company (Company President: Kazuo Ohara, Address: Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku Tokyo) has added the PVD coated grade, MS7025, and 0.15mm corner R to MICRO-TWIN type of boring bar for high precision and small parts machining. These will be available on July 3rd.
The MICRO-MINI TWIN boring bar is a tool for machining the inner diameter of small, high precision parts. It is highly rated by customers using small automatic lathes as a boring tool capable of high quality machining of the inner diameter of small diameter holes.
MITSUBISHI MATERIALS is pleased to announce the addition of 0.15mm corner R and the PVD coated grade, MS7025, to the current lineup. These will allow the expansion of the range of applications in terms of tool grades and shapes. The MS7025 exhibits excellent adhesion and wear resistance.
1. The boring bar for high precision and small parts machining is capable of internal machining of a minimum machining diameter of φ2.2mm and the two cutting edges can be used with one tool, thus providing an excellent cost performance.
2. The MS7025 combines the high lubrication layer with excellent welding resistance, and the high hardness layer with a greater wear resistance that suppresses the progress of wear at the nano-level, thus the film damage is significantly reduced and the welding and wear resistance are dramatically improved.
3. The nano-level highly lubricating layer suppresses built-up edge caused by welding, which tends to occur in low-feed machining, and suppresses scratches on the machined surface.
