MITSUBISHI MATERIALS CORPORATION Metalworking Solutions Company (Company President: Tetsuya Tanaka, Address: Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has added precision, G-class negative inserts to the MP9000/MT9000 series of inserts for turning difficult-to-cut materials. These additions to the range will go on sale on December 1st.
The MP9000 / MT9000 series of turning inserts are suitable for machining difficult-to-cut materials such as titanium, heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant alloys that are commonly used for aircraft parts and medical equipment. With the improved chipping and adhesion resistance, sudden chipping of the cutting edge is suppressed and the usual troubles associated with this type of machining are prevented.
Mitsubishi Materials is pleased to announce the addition of precision G-class, negative inserts to the current range.
1. The MP9000 series has an Al-rich (Al, Ti)N single layer coating that stabilizes the high-hardness phase and significantly improves adhesion and abrasion resistance.
・MP9005: Highest ISO grade that emphasizes wear resistance.
・MP9015: Excellent versatility and the first recommended grade for most applications.
・MP9025: Tough grade that emphasizes cutting edge stability.
2. The MT9000 series is of uncoated carbide grades for turning titanium alloys. The MT9015 grade is highly regarded for its wear and chipping resistance.
