MITSUBISHI MATERIALS CORPORATION Metalworking Solutions Company (Company President: Tetsuya Tanaka, Address: Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has released three new additions, the MP2ES, MP3ES and MP4EC to the MS plus end mill series for Swiss type automatic lathes. These new additions went on sale on March 12th.
When machining parts with small automatic lathes, it is necessary to machine as close to the spindle as possible, and the tool size must be suitably small to avoid interference within the limited space available.
MS plus end mills have been well received as a general-purpose tool and MITSUBISHI MATERIALS has released and developed three new types, the MP2ES, MP3ES and MP4EC, that are optimized for size and provide stable machining when used on automatic lathes.
1. Machining without the problems of tool interference is possible by adopting a size that takes into consideration the cutting edge and total length of the protrusion.
2. Fracture resistance is greatly improved and stable machining is also accomplished by using a high-toughness carbide substrate.
3. The optimized cutting edge rake angle suppresses burrs.
4. To improve the fracture resistance of the cutting edge, a small gash land is used on diameters Φ6mm or larger.
