MITSUBISHI MATERIALS CORPORATION Metalworking Solutions Company (Company President: Tetsuya Tanaka, Address: Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has released DLC4LATB, an addition to the series of taper ball nose end mills for machining aluminium alloy impellers. The new addition went on sale on April 15th.
The demand for turbochargers for automobiles has increased in recent years and many of the impellers incorporated into these turbochargers are made of aluminium alloys.
In order to answer the need to efficiently machine aluminium alloy impellers, MITSUBISHI MATERIALS released the non-coated C4LATB end mill. It has been highly evaluated by customers as an end mill with excellent chip discharge properties and displays a high resistance to breakage. To complement the original series, a DLC4LATB coated type has been introduced. The uniquely developed DLC coating provides excellent welding resistance during high-speed machining and when the coolant supply is reduced. Additionally, the low coefficient of friction reduces cutting resistance.
1. The high-rigidity design offers an improved breakage resistance and high-efficiency when machining aluminium impellers.
2. The uniquely developed DLC coating provides excellent welding resistance.
