ARP Series - Addition of MP9140, a PVD coated grade for machining of difficult-to-cut materials
July 15, 2020MITSUBISHI MATERIALS CORPORATION Metalworking solutions company (Company President: Tetsuya Tanaka, Address: Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has added MP9140, a PVD coated grade to the range of round inserts for the ARP cutter for milling of difficult-to-cut materials.
The new MP9140 insert grade has been added to meet the growing demand for machining of difficult-to-cut materials. It is highly suitable for rough machining of heat resistant and titanium alloys, due to improved welding, heat and fracture resistance.
Features of the PVD coated grade MP9140
1. Smooth surfaces of the insert provide excellent welding resistance.
2. The high Al-rich AlTiN coating succeeds in dramatically improving wear and heat resistance.
3. Special cemented carbide substrate with improved fracture resistance.
