Series Expansion - New Chip Breakers Added to the VAS 400 Indexable Insert Side and Face Cutter
May 16, 2018Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, Advanced Materials & Tools Company (President – Shinichi Nakamura, Headquarters: 1-3-2 Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has added a new chip breaker to the inserts for the VAS400 indexable side and face cutter series.
The VAS400 indexable side and face cutter is used for slotting and machining of the side and face portions of automotive and general components. The low cutting resistance and high clamping rigidity delivers superior vibration resistance and expands the range of milling applications available across the Mitsubishi range.
A new insert with a strong cutting edge, an R breaker type, is now also available for a wide range of workpiece materials and applications.
Features of the R breaker
1. A strong cutting edge that is suitable for steels and interrupted machining has been designed using the latest advanced simulation technology.
2. Equipped with a wide insert pocket and clamping area that enhances rigidity.
3. The ideal choice of corner radii enables the provision for precise corner radius machining.
